Our department has created several documents to assist students and advisors plot their course through the mathematics degree, and to provide information for others interested in our program. All these documents should be considered tentative; and the General Bulletin and a student's degree plan always takes precedence.
Entry-level courses: students who are TSI Complete or Exempt may register for any entry-level mathematics course. Our entry-level courses are MATH 1314 (College Algebra), MATH 1316 (Plane Trigonometry), MATH 1324 (Finite Mathematics), MATH 1332 (Math in Society), MATH 1342 (Introduction to Probability and Statistics), and MATH 1350 (Introdution to Foundations of Mathematics I).
Upper-level courses: see this file or the image below for a diagram showing what prerequisites are needed for upper-level courses.
Course Maps and Degree Plans
There are four paths to graduation with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. For each below we provide a four-year course map (tables that show a path to graduating) and a degree plan template (summary list of required classes and core curriculum options).
